H. C. R. 18--"Naming the newly-constructed bridge which
replaced the former Pleasant Street Bridge in the city of
Morgantown, West Virginia, the 'South Park Bridge.'"
Whereas, The title, South Park, is a rich, sentimental name
that evokes great warmth, nostalgia and pride in that part of
Morgantown; and
Whereas, The name, "South Park Bridge," is perfect to
capture the character of the bridge and the neighborhood it
serves; and
Whereas, The mayor, city council and citizens of Morgantown
support naming the bridge the "South Park Bridge"; therefore, be
it
Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the newly constructed bridge which replaced the former
Pleasant Street Bridge in the city of Morgantown, West Virginia,
be named the "South Park Bridge"; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates
forward a copy of this resolution to the Governor and the Mayor
of Morgantown.
